Mercedes-Benz Edmonton West would like to welcome and congratulate Gareth Joyce who will be taking over as President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada on January 1st, 2016. Gareth will be stepping in for Tim A. Reuss who has served as President and CEO since March 2011. Tim will be staying the Mercedes-Benz family and is to become the President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Portugal beginning January 1st, 2016. Under Tim’s leadership and guidance Mercedes-Benz Canada achieved the number one position in the Canadian luxury market.
Looking forward, Mercedes-Benz Canada is excited and confident to have Gareth Joyce leading the way as President and CEO. Gareth hails from South Africa where he started his career in the automotive industry in 2004 with DaimlerChrysler South Africa as their Senior Technical Manager. Three years later he was promoted to Vice President of After-Sales for Mercedes-Benz South Africa. Gareth has also held executive roles in the Daimler organization, both in the Netherlands and the United States.
Since joining Mercedes-Benz USA in February 2012, Gareth has served in the role of Vice President of Customer Services and has been responsible for mapping the strategic direction for Daimler’s largest after-sales market in the world and managing a multi-billion dollar parts revenue portfolio. Gareth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master of Commerce in Business Management from Rand Afrikaans University.
